I absolutely LOVE this place! New York Prime has one of the best steaks that I have ever eaten. Everything about this place, the food, the service, the ambience is top notch! I would give it more than five stars if I could.

Boys Night Out took the group to NY Prime, yesterday. The meal was very good...all the way around. Atmosphere, staff, quality of food, all good!!! Ok, listen up...here's the nugget. We shared the Chopped Steak as our first appetizer. Yep, CHOPPED STEAK!!! Charred Pittsburgh on outside and kinda rare in middle. BTW. That's how they serve all their steaks. If you don't like it, better talk to server before the butter/crusted goodness hits your taste buds. Solid Steak House!!!

My brother and his wife invited me and my wife out for a date night. We made reservations and indicated that we were celebrating. Not celebrating anything in particular, just celebrating. John the manager rolled out a proverbial red carpet that lasted the entire evening. Eating at NY Prime is an event that throws back to the speak easy days of the upper west side. Waiters wear butcher jackets and are paired with assistants that see to every nuisance from what utensil you are using to the removal of every unwanted crumb. The restaurant is full of all walks of social life from politicians to capo's of questionable family backgrounds. We started with martinis at the bar to champagne as we sat down to red wine to accompany the prime steak that one picks from a platter. It's expensive but makes you feel like an untouchable. Can't wait to return.

I've been coming here for years and would put this establishment up against any steakhouse in America. I hosted a small (4 person) work dinner last night which was about my 10th time at NYP. Outstanding steaks, sides and service. The steaks are dry aged and cooked to perfection. Broiled to create a perfect crust while keeping the center juicy. The Cesar salad is fantastic and you have to get it with extra anchovies. I'm typically not a huge fan of them but these are the best I've ever had. For sides you can't go wrong with the Cheesy mashed potatoes and creamed spinach And for desert the Chesecake is fantastic. Flown in from a bakery in NYC.

Service 5 stars, quick, efficient, attentive Steak: 3 stars. We ordered porterhouse, Fillet mignon part was cooked to perfection but New York strip was tough, too many tendons, I had hard time chewing it. For $97 a pop I expect a truly Premium product. I am a New Yorker and know what really good steak is like. Advice for management: work on meat quality Atmosphere: 5 stars. Life music, nicely dressed crowd.

The best of the best. Service can have a bit of arrogance but the food is truly great. If I had to choose my "last meal" it would be here.

Great classic steakhouse Try rib steak edges The bread is so good I try not to eat too much of it but always do Fish is light and flavorful Service is top notch My absolute favorite in south Florida

Good steakhouse with great service. I would consider NY Prime a step up from Ruth's Chris. Admittedly, my review might be biased due to our fantastic waiter, Sante. He was attentive, polite, and warm. Really, top notch. The steaks were good. Wines by the glass were good (we passed on the $14,500 bottle of Lafitte Rothschild.) I had a New York strip and my wife had a petite filet. Both were well cooked. We ordered the steamed spinach and sauteed mushrooms as sides. Nice experience overall.

This should be a 3.5 star review. The atmosphere is electric but if your out for a quite night this is NOT your place. The waiter couldn't even hear my order as the live music was so god damn loud. After the initial shock we actually liked the music by the end of the night, and tipped the artist. The food: They have an obsession with cheese in USA and NYP is no different. They smothered my prawns in it and ruined perfectly good seafood, they also have an obsession with cooking the plate to breaking point so your skin melts if you dare touch the plate. This is probably the reason why my steak overcooked as the plate was like a grill plate. Overall the meal was pretty good with huge servings. Food 5.5/10 service 8/10 decor 7/10

This is the best steak spot in Boca. Walked in without a reservation and got 2seats at the bar. Everything was great from start to finish. Will be back to sit at a table next time. Good crowd of people and there's a particular song that comes on and people throw napkins everywhere. At first it was annoying but then I threw some and liked it.

If visiting the Boca, Deerfield, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm area this is a great night out. Saturday nights are a fun live music dance party with napkins being thrown. Weeknights still have live music but are not as wild. Great for a special occassion or if you are in the mood for a great steak dinner. The red snapper with crab meat is awesome too!

I hadn't been here in many years and feel the food is not as good as it used to be. My chopped salad was good and my husband liked the bacon however his steak was "average" quality. Would have ordered the salmon however it is FARM RAISED!! Embarrassing for this type of establishment. Instead had the shrimp app, it was flavorful and a good size portion. The wine selection by the glass was fair at best. We also ordered the hot cookie dessert (hoping that it would be like Prime 112's). The cookie tasted like it was reheated and when I asked for hot fudge sauce...they were out of it! As many others have stated, the music is extremely loud. Definitely not a romantic dinner. Will likely not return.

I went to New York Prime for the first time last night(Saturday) and was sadly disappointed. Great ambiance(Fun, lively, friendly), staff is very accommodating, friendly and professional, but the food was just ehh.....to start the bread came and was delicious and we got more of the raison bread that we liked, so far so good......I am not a meat eater so ordered sea bass and onion rings. The sea bass was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo oily and the onion rings were like shoe leather. My friends ordered the Veal chop $50 and it was very small and just ok. I could go on and on, but have more important things to do. Being from NYC, I know great food and have been spoiled for it!! Bottom line go to NY Prime for the lively, fun bar scene NOT for the food!!

I'd like to give individual components of my experience ratings... because really this should be a 4.5 star rating, so I will break it down here::: Location: (3 stars) It is a bit difficult to find and is nestled back behind buildings. As far as I could tell, you can't see it from the road. We got a little lost; however, the people I was with had been to the restaurant a while back and seemed to regain their memory of it's location. We found it within a few minutes of searching. Parking (5 stars) Valet parking- quick to park before dinner and quick to deliver the car after dinner--- hassle-free, just the way I like it Atmosphere/Ambience: (4 stars) We were here on a Saturday night at 7pm. I walked in to find a keyboard player/singer up by the bar and a ton of people inside. It is a loud restaurant and probably not for everyone; however, I didn't mind the noise at all. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside..... Wood floors and large windows. I will agree with some of the reviews on here regarding the fact that the average age of customers is "older." At 24 years old, my boyfriend and I were by far the youngest in there apart from the one young child who was there with what appeared to be her parents/grandparents. Bar: (4 stars) I am not a big drinker. That said, we were out celebrating a birthday with family, so I had a drink at the bar before we were seated. My lemon drop was delicious, and I would give it a 5 star! On the downside, the bar was very, very crowded and not really a place to have any sort of conversation due to the noise level. I couldn't hear anything people were saying to me; hence, the 4 star rating. Staff: (5 stars) Our waiter was absolutely fantastic. He was attentive and quick to handle everything. From plating our food at the table and serving it to us to frequent check-ins and drink refills, he was one of the best waiters I've ever had. The bar staff was very friendly as well. Finally, ON TO THE GOOD STUFF... the FOOD! We were a party of four and started off with two appetizers. I would give both a five star:: (1) Oysters Rockefeller: delicious, melted in my mouth, perfect texture. (2) Carpaccio: this was a first for me, but it was to die for. Aside from dessert, this was my favorite thing of the night! Moving on to the meal. I was lucky to have a chance to try just about everything ordered last night, so here we go: Personally, I ordered the NY Strip cooked medium. I will give it a 3.5 star rating as it was quite thick for a strip, and it was much tougher than I expected it to be. On the other hand, it was perfectly pink in the middle. My boyfriend had the 14 oz filet, and it was out of this world. A 4.5 star rating is well deserved here.... cooked perfectly, melted in my mouth, soft and flavorful... great steak! I also had the opportunity to try to the veal chop- 4 stars here. It was wonderfully prepared and cooked well. Of course, we also had to order some sides: (1) Hashbrowns: These deserve a 4.5 star rating. The waiter suggested ordering them "crispy on top" & boy was he right! They were a perfect combination of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and had just the right amount of seasoning. (2) 1/2 Onion Rings And 1/2 Fries: 5 stars here. Perfect for the table because you get the best of both worlds. I can't even describe how delicious this side was! I was in food heaven last night over this one. (3) Sauteed Mushrooms: Again, a 5 star rating here. These were amazing. Period. (4) Creamed spinach: (3.5 stars) Perhaps I just wasn't a personal fan of this dish... I didn't like the texture of it as I found it too stringy. (5) Fettuccine Alfredo "the Recipe" : I will go 4 stars here. I loved the fact that the sauce on this pasta side wasn't overly creamy and greasy. It was nice and light and had good flavor to it. Sweet endings..... (1) Banana Cream Pie... 5 stars, and I don't even like banana that much! The consistency of this pie was like what I imagine a cloud to feel like except it was happening in my mouth LOL .... it was soft and airy and perfectly light! The flavor was not overly "banana-y" and the amazing whipped cream gave it balance. The crust was my absolute favorite part of the dessert... it appeared to be a cookie dough crust, and it was out of this world. (2) Sundae for 4.... 5 stars here as well. First, the presentation was AWESOME! The ice cream and all of its toppings were rolled out on a cart. Our waiter hand crafted each sundae at our table in a martini glass and served it. The ice cream was one of the creamiest ice creams I recall having, and the toppings were a perfect addition. The hot fudge was thick and again the whipped cream was fantastic. All in all, we had a great night at NY Prime celebrating a birthday. We will most definitely go back!

have not been here for 10 years or so and we decided to give a try....MISTAKE...Steaks were fair at best and WAY overpriced. Our porterhouse for 2 was barely cooked when we ordered it medium rare and even after sending it back for a little more fire still had a cool center, for a hundred bucks.....Steak did not taste dry aged at all, in fact it was rather lousy. Lobster was overcooked and rubbery. If you are into the "Boca Scene" then this is your place but if the food really matters go elsewhere. Junior Varsity Steak at best with Very Varsity prices.

This place is so outstanding. Well worth the drive from west palm for me. Well worth the flight from Boston for me when I am up north. This is the best steakhouse. Great atmosphere. Great vibe. Wonderful wonderful menu. The New York strip "Pittsburgh" styled is so damn good. Excellent wine list. Staff is efficient and happy. And the management greets the tables. The place is class. We went on 12/27 and I must give a special shoutout to the entertainment. This guy was just awesome. I want to write him a blank check to play for my events. He MADE the night. Just awesome. Go go go.

I couldnt get past the creepy bar scene to enjoy the food. Unescorted women drink for free 5pm to 11pm. The Ladies room was a direct reflection of the above. Desperate 50's plus in way too short band aid dresses taking provocative selfies. Bad enough til I walked out and 2 people were going at it in the hallway. Longed for home.

The inside is classy as hell. My NY strip was a little fatty for me to give this place a better review. I would probably go back though.

We just celebrated our wedding anniversary at New York Prime and it was spectacular! We love the personalized service and attention to detail, not to mention the incredible food... In particular must try their grilled oysters appetizer and banana cream pie with shaved white chocolate for dessert. Thank you New York Prime for making our experience unforgettable!!

My go to steak house, from the seafood, to the sides, and those buttery melt in your mouth cuts of dry aged beef. Ok, I have to admit, the tomato and onion salad was a little under, but, it's November! The grilled oysters, why are they not served in the shell! I know, but it still gets five stars in my book. If your looking for a romantic night to whisper in each others ear, don't go here on the weekend, or Wednesday night cause the place is full of upscale energy!

Ears Still Ringing. We were meeting recent new friends for a night out for the first time. We were seated in the first main room, not close to the bar. However, a band was playing in the bar and the speakers were so loud it was extremely difficult to hear each other. It made for an unpleasant experience. Three of the meals were good. However, since I do not eat beef, I ordered the Garlic Chicken, which had no garlic taste and was dry. This was my first and last visit to NY Prime. By the way, we had 7:00 p.m. reservations on a Tuesday night. Does this time of day really call for such a noisy band? 8/26/14

One of the best steak house and fine dining establishments in Boca Raton area. The owners are very nice and the manager Scott goes above and beyond to make your a experience perfect. The server we had was Carlos he was the best and beyond professional. This place has a very good atmosphere and you feel like your at home. Highly recommend this place. I try to go as often as possible.

We ate here dinner here on March 3rd. We shared stone crab claws an an appetizer. They were good, but very expensive, $47.50 for two large claws. I had the filet mignon and my girlfriend had the NY strip. Both steaks were the best we ever had...blows away Morton's and most others. Perfectly seasoned, and, cooked exactly as we ordered. The selection of wines by the glass was very good. The key lime pie was also great. My only complaint was the creamed spinach was a bit too creamy. We were seated as soon as we arrived, and, our waiter was excellent. He was there, yet not overbearing. I have been here a couple of times several years ago, and, it was excellent then. Their tradition of offering the best steaks i the area continues!

I took my girlfriend here last night for a special occasion and we were both very excited to try this place. We were seated immediately for our reservation, but that was about the only thing they got right. That and the shellfish bisque. The waitstaff was extremely inattentive. I ordered a chopped salad without blue cheese. When I told the waiter it had blue cheese in it, he decided to look to see what he had written down in his notes instead of just bringing me a new one. I eventually got one without the blue cheese and the salad was fair. We had asked for more butter for the bread and that never came throughout the entire dinner. My girlfriend explained to the waiter thoroughly that she wanted a medium well petite filet with minimal pink. After cutting into it it was more rare than my strip cooked medium rare. After sending it back we got the same piece of filet that was so dry you could barely swallow a piece. The waiter was not sure how to handle the situation so he got the general manager. He was very nice and told us they must have grabbed the wrong steak from the broiler. I could understand if this was outback, but why should I be served a filet that has now been cooked twice with absolutely no juiciness because the kitchen staff grabbed the "wrong one". By this point we were over the dining experience. The manager did very well trying to make it right but at that point we just wanted to leave. I wanted to avoid the "chain" restaurants so dinner was between New York Prime or Okechobee Steakhouse. The whole time I was at dinner I was thinking that Okechobee Steakhouse is where we should have dined. My one time their was an awesome experience.

I have been coming to S. Florida since I was a little kid, first to see my grandparents and now my folks, and have collected some favorite restaurants over the years. This was my first time here, but definitely not my last. There is really nothing better than a perfectly prepared steak, and the one I had tonight was a prime example, and makes places like the Capital Grill seem like Burger King. All of the appetizers and sides were worth the trip by themselves. One in our group of five had fish and one chicken and they were both equally impressed. We had a butter cake dessert that my daughter proclaimed on first bite was "the best thing I have ever eaten of any kind"! The room is lively and the service was friendly, available, and as efficient as a Ferrari pit crew. The manager came over to our table several times to make sure we were having a great time. A memorable evening, this place is officially 'on the list'!

Very cool vibe and trendy place. Fun scene for groups. Food was good overall but overpriced considering steaks a little bland. Expected more for the steaks but could be spoiled by NYC steakhouses. Wife had grilled veal chop and that tasted better than steak.

I went last night for my 55th birthday dinner. It never ceases to amaze me how fabulous the steaks, service, and atmosphere is. Consistently excellent and I had a wonderful time. The 22 ounce bone-in ribeye is to die for! I will be back for many more special occasions. Thank you for a great birthday dinner.

Hosted a party for 20 in a private section of the restaurant. Overall a good event and was happy with the service. The staff did a great job and we offered a steak, chicken, or fish entree. I had the Strip and it was cooked medium rare to perfection and was excellent. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and wine. We had a great night and I would consider going back if I wanted a steakhouse.

I attended a large group dinner here the other night and I was very impressed how good the service was. Decor is typical steakhouse...dark and nicely furnished. The food was quite good - I especially enjoyed the stuffed shrimp and my filet with creamed spinach. The clientele is definitely interesting...I highly recommend a stroll through the bar area. It will certainly be good people watching.

I had a ribeye here, and it wasn't that good. Bitter burned fat on the outside and mooing on the inside does not MEDIUM make. Their black-and-blue style bruised my appetite. The service tried their best, but it's a loud, raucus place- more because of their show-off-y obnoxious customers and less because of the snooty hostesses and the crashing glasses and dishes. This was not a reasonable value, nor a good experience.

I havent been here in quite some time but it was just as good as I remember it to be. I would have given it 5 stars if my waitress wasn't absent over and over again... The only thing negative I have to say about it is that being in Boca there is a older people element to it. Nothing could be quite as bad as stuck up pompous ass Boca (old money types) who thought that they were getting away with shooting nasty looks at my girlfriend and talking about her on here way to and from the bathroom because she was wearing a super hot dress and they have nothing else better to do with their lives than criticize everyone and everything when the truth is that probably on their best day they never looked as good as she did. Funny that with them being obviously rude and doing this that they were surprised when I called them out about it. You talk shit and someone confronts you dont get mad at me, you should have kept your mouth shut in the first place and try not to die sitting at the table you old hags.

Here are the facts: 1. This place makes great martinis(Prime112's are better) 2. Average age is over 50, lots of second and third wives 3. Great bread especially the Parmesan toast 4. Seafood is amazingly fresh, especially the lump crab, oysters and shrimp 5. They make a great steak, perfectly cooked 6. Banana cream pie is just amazing This place is a real triple and is one of the best steak houses around. High concentration of Florida Cougars are the bar...

It's a show worth going too. You feel the energy unlike many local fine dining establishments that could pass for a library serving food. The food is excellent, drinks are made with liquor you can taste, service spot on. If your night consist of going out and having fun while dinning then NY Prime is a must. If you're going out to get ready for bed other places are better suited.

I have waited 2 full months to write this review because I wanted to give the restaurant the opportunity to rectify the situation. Everyone makes mistakes, and I would have been willing to see past that had they reached out to me and tried to make things right. That never happened, so I'm posting the story on Yelp in hopes that everyone who reads this be aware that this restaurant serves steaks in conjunction with alarmingly poor service. For the sake of chronology, I went to the restaurant on 10/28/12, wrote and submitted a letter on 10/29/12, and have yet to be contacted (as of 12/26/12.) At this point, it doesn't even matter, because I would never step foot in NYP again. There are far better options nearby and you Yelpers would be best suited to find another place in the area to go for steak. On October 28th, I went to New York Prime with 2 other people. I called ahead to make a reservation for 3 and informed the staff that it was a birthday celebration so that they could be prepared. I was told that it would be annotated and took that to mean that they would handle everything. When we arrived, I reminded the waitress that it was a birthday dinner to which she assured me that she already knew and would take care of it. The meal came and we enjoyed our food; in all honesty, the steaks were quite good, but I digress. The table was cleared and the check was brought over, though I saw no signs of the staff preparing to celebrate a birthday through dessert, song, card, or any combination therein. I reminded the waitress one more time, and she said she would bring something. She returns with a miniature goblet, perhaps used for serving amuse bouche, filled with whipped cream. There was a plastic straw stuck into the whipped cream with a candle crammed into the top of it. She set this embarrassment on the table and walked away. I wish that I had taken a picture of this, but I was in too much shock to consider the idea. The guest of honor blew on her straw, and this sad thimble of whipped cream, which served as her birthday dessert, sat on the table like some ridiculous candid camera prank. I called the waitress over to figure out exactly what her motive was for bringing over 3 ounces of dessert topping with a straw lanced into it, and she said that the restaurant doesn't give free desserts out. This statement implies two things: 1) it assumes that we were looking for a handout, and 2) it shows that she made the executive decision not to ask me if we would like to have dessert and then include it on the bill. Never in any of my conversations with the hostess or with the waitress did I say that I expected or even wanted dessert on the house. It should also be said that patrons eating in a restaurant where the entrées are at a price point in the $40-60 range would more than likely be able to afford a dessert for less than $10. I requested that the waitress have the manager visit us, and I see what appears to be a sous-chef approaching our table. Unless the manager wears a white chef's coat over his suit, this was not the manager. Regardless, the man approaches our table and without a hint of courtesy, gruffly asks what our problem is. (I believe his exact words were "what's the problem?") I explained that I had called ahead to notify the staff of the birthday (and reminded said staff at the time of arrival as well as throughout the meal) so that they could surprise her with a dessert and perhaps, sing happy birthday. He, too, assumed we were expecting a free dessert, and barked that NYP policy states that the restaurant provides no handouts to their patrons - as if we had given any indication that's what we were expecting at all. All that we wanted was for the birthday girl to enjoy her steak dinner and follow it up with a sweet dessert which, though I feel it is redundant to say at this point, we obviously would have paid for. Instead, she was made to feel sheepish by what was brought to our table on the one day a year where she is supposed to feel special. In my opinion, if a group of 3 patrons is prepared to spend upwards of $250 on a meal, they should be treated with dignity and respect. The fact that New York Prime has a problem grasping this concept, even despite being half empty on a Sunday night, does not bode well for the future viability of this location or for the firm. I have enjoyed New York Prime in the past which is why we considered it as an option for a birthday dinner. I had expectations for the food, the décor, the service, and the staff that were previously set by positive experiences. Having said that, the service at this location was so abysmal, that instead of happily walking away with leftovers from a delicious meal, the three of us left angered and insulted with this shameful story as a testament to New York Prime's concern for their customers. Can you give zero stars? Once you get past the terrible service, obnoxious manager, and the fact that they hate babies (but have booster seats for small kids; who typically can be more loud and out of control than a young infant), you are left with an overpriced NY wanna be steakhouse. Going to the airport, dealing with the TSA and airport employees, flying to ny and eating steak from a street cart would be far less annoying than a night at this restaurant. Get an infant seat and stop thinking you are too good to have families eat at your establishment .

Came with my family for dinner. We were a party of 8 and they honored our reservation on a Sunday night very promptly. The restaurant was not packed surprisingly, considering it is a Boca hot spot and it is "the season". This place has a traditional old school steakhouse feel. Live piano player was a nice touch. Food was very good. I had a fillet cooked a perfect medium rare. Porterhouse for 2, chopped steak and garlic chicken all got good reviews. Sides of onion rings were awesome and the other sides of fried potato, creamed spinach, and lyonaisse potatoes were all delicious. Desserts of key lime pie, chocolate chip cookie, ice cream Sunday and apple cobbler received praise. Absolutely no problems with service. A good steak house. This was my first time here, and I would go back. I have been to Abe & Louie's, a nearby Steakhouse on numerous occasions, so that would probably be my first choice, but a few more times at New York Prime may change that.

We've been coming here for years and we always have a great time. From the minute the valet takes your car, to meeting the hostess and to sitting down, you feel like you are being well taken care of. We come here for incredible service, the scene and of course the steak. The best steak in Boca and there are just a few steak houses.

Probably wont go back for a long time. I sent my tasteless shrimp back for oysters & they were in ice yet warm. The chop salad was bitter & not very good. We were not served the salad or given utensils to dish it out. The creamed spinach was pretty bad. $300 later..... Waste of calories! The 11$ glass of cab was good.

I was visiting Boca from NYC last week and when I asked everyone where a good steakhouse was they all said NY PRIME so we went. . . long story short the service was excellent. There was a manager/host named John (Geo) I think and he made us feel like we were eating in his living room. All the others were very attentive and took good care of us. . . BUT- the steak was just OK. We had the porthouse for two & it was not seasoned enough and came out too blackened on the outside. A few times I felt like I licked a bbq. We also had the cream spinach which didn't compare to some others ive had & we had the roasted potatos which were very good. Oh & our appetizer the lump crab was very good. I also liked the piano player and decor, i though overall the place had a nice feel to it. I would go back and try something else, but NY PRIME would not survive one week in NY CITY charging more than the average steakhouse with unseasoned/charcoaled steak. ALSO the menus explaining why they are charging more money also would not survive in NYC. the food should prove why people are spending more money and the restaurant shouldn't have to explain.

Atmosphere was vibrant at this established Boca steak house. If your looking to pick up a sugar momma or sugar dady with your meal, this is the place. The bar is alive and pumps out drinks with suprising speed. I had the New York Strip as my diner. Perfectly cooked. Started off with some Oysters and baked shrimp. The shrimp was fantastic. A beautiful combination of garlic and butter that made my eyes open with amazement. Service was great as the staff was on the spot with everything we needed. Also was sat next to George Hamilton making for an interesting conversation at out table. If your looking to drop a few hundred bucks on dinner and where almost everyone has their AARP membership this place is great. Also the onion strips were some of the best I've ever had.

My husband took me there for my birthday. I'm really not a steakhouse person but OMG this place was amazing! I had the petite filet, it melts in your mouth and the cheese mashed potatoes my mouth is watering just thinking about it. For desert we had banana cream pie it was incredible. The staff was friendly and nice. I can't wait to go back.

They should be a solid 4.5 stars but I think the ambiance isn't for everyone. Don't take your kids there go ready to have fun and spend some money. But as far as money goes the best thing on the menu is the rib edges. If anyone doesn't know what that is its the outside fatty part of the ribeye cut. Its the cheapest of the steak entrees and definitely the best. It comes with onion straws that I wish I was able to sub out a veggie for but no subs on that one. As far as the ambiance they have a very loud piano man and the staff seems to have a snooty attitude. I don't mind either of those but from some other reviews I've read others def seem to not care for that. Overall one of my fav places to go when I'm looking to have a great meal in a fun atmosphere. oh and you have to get the garlic baked shrimp app. Thats a dish that sets them apart from the competition for sure.

Best steak house in Florida. The porterhouse for two would serve four but is perfect.

I've learned over the years, some people are only happy if they can complain. This is surely the only reason anybody would have a negative word - or less than 5 stars - for NY Prime. I travel for a living and make it my goal to find exotic, extravagant eateries (after all, somebody else is usually paying) and I can say for sure that this is one of the top 2 or 3 restaurants - in terms of service, food, atmosphere, and drinks - I have ever visited. Wohoo! Steak, Veal, Salad, Wine, Martinis...all just what you'd expect from a true first class organization. 2 very professional managers constantly floating around to make sure all was running smoothly. Money, and time, very well spent - I wish I could dine here daily! I hesitate to post this lest the open tables get even more difficult to find....

I do not know if I go for the steaks or the insanity? The food is always good and the service is great. They seem to be a little more humble during slow economy's then during boom times, but with that being said this place is like the circus. Where else can you see a 70 plus year old guy in a captains hat making out with a 20 year old at the bar? Yuck! The Bar is a mad house and the same guy has been singing sweet Caroline since Neal Diamond wrote it. The breads that start you off can be a meal them self. I like the spicy cheesy bread (sliced and cracker like) The Mrs. likes the dark sugary one. That helps keep the fights away. The drinks are poured on the stiff side (thats a good thing) and the police are out front to help the drunk senior citizens to their cars. I love the looks of the seafood appetizer sampler but am not much of a raw oyster / stone crab guy. They have huge lobsters that come with bankers to help you finance one if you want it. The steaks are great one of my favorites behind the king Peter Lugar's (Brooklyn not L.I.) and the Cheese Mash makes my cholesterol climb just thinking about it. Deserts are great if you have room and the Onion Rings are proper and large. Not for the cheap or easily offended. Great place to people watch and reservations are a necessity. So get your botox and your home equity loan and give it a try.

Great place for locals. I say that for several reasons: 1. See El S. review about "bitter divorcees and cheesy old fat guys". Great line, and oh-so-true. 2. If you're not local, you've come this far, what's another 40 minutes to Prime 112? Trust me, the drive is more than worth it. 3. Most importantly, well, if you're not local you are just not wanted. Went in January of 2010 during South Florida's record breaking cold spell. And guess what? They had no heat. Hadn't had heat for a week of 40 degree evening temps. Every diner in the place had their overcoats on. It was still very uncomfortable, nobody could enjoy dinner. Yes, we could have left, but once you sit down and start eating and drinking, your brain -- conditioned by thousands of dining experiences in places with heat --kind of expects you to heat up. When you don't, you wind up being miserable. So yeah, caveat emptor. We stayed and we deserved what we got. But when dinner came and went and we were offered nothing for our inconvenience -- not a dessert, not an after dinner drink, not any one of a number of things that don't cost a restaurant anything but that they rountinely provide as a peace offering when they screw up... That's a little arrogant. When I called them on this by asking them to remove our $30 Corkage fee as a courtesy because YOU HAD NO FUCKING HEAT, my query was met with, "Are you local? Because if you are local we can do it, otherwise the corporate office will be mad at us". Are you fucking kidding me? Deep breath, deep breath. My friend was a local, so we got the charge removed, otherwise we would have been told, 'sorry you froze your ass off, thanks for your money, suckas' The food? Standard steakhouse fare. Nothing special here. The atmosphere has been touched on by other reviewers ("circus", "madhouse", and my own personal favorite; "where else can you see a 70 plus year old guy making out with a 20 year old at the bar") so if that's your scene then go for it. Oh, one other thing worth mentioning: The menu has an insert. Yes, the purveyors here are about as tacky as the crowd. Presumably people must have complained about the price of the steaks, so they have an insert comparing their prices to other steakhouses. And hey, wow, guess what, New York Prime is $5 cheaper than the others. HaHaHaHa! Cheeeeeessssy.

#7 Décor: 4* Originally hesitant to dine here because of the exorbitant prices. A 14 oz filet will cost you $48 which means the meal will easily set you back $100 per person. But I was already there and the reviews were good. Looks like a good old school steakhouse done oh so perfect floridian style. Host and Waiter Service: 4* Walked in without reservations and the place was packed on a Tuesday night. We were fortunate to get a table as the older gentleman at the front who seemed like the older took care of us.. On to the food....... Bread Test: 5* You start out with a fresh bread basket. Crispy raisin bread coated with sugar and another with a cheesy topping. Both excellent. This place passes the bread test with flying colors. Appetizers: Had: 2* A bib salad did the job but nothing exciting about it. Shuda Had: Calamari Entrees: Had: I had my filet medium and it was more red than I expected so I'm glad I didn't go med-rare. The meat was delicious. To me it was made similar to a Ruth's Chris with less flavor which I actually enjoyed better. The mushroom side is a must. Seemed like a balsamic flavor and accompanied the meat perfectly. Also got spinach which was uninspiring and 2/3 of it left over. Shuda Had: It's a steak house. If you get anything but a steak then go elsewhere. Drinks: A nice red. Forgot the type?? After Meal Things To Do: Sit down and sleep as you will be fullllll. Overall: 4* A solid spot and so much better than expected.

Great place for drinks and some real food. Everything about this place screams Boca. I LOVE IT ! Divorcees hanging around the bar, the dirty old men and liquor. Everything on the menu sounded great. I went with the filet mignon. IT WAS AWESOME !!! I even got a # at the bar from some cougar. YIKES !

This place has a wonderful bar, valet parking and a great ambiance. The wait staff and management are less than attentive the bonein rib steak was absolutely terrible and the waiter totally dismissed mycomment. Improper setting of silverware and over the top pricing for the level of professionalism and subpar food. Abe and louies is across the street and its a sure winner. our money is better spent in an establishment that truly is engaged with its customer this one is not.

Extremely frurating night at NY Prime. My wife and I looking for a great steak with 9 PM reservations; 45 minutes later we walked out without dinner at all. It was a busy night but the host and matre'd played favorites as to who got seats. It was ashame to go to such a ridiculously priced place waiting to drop a few hundred to be hustled to the crowded bar to stand and wait. Too many choices for delicious steak in town to deal with this pompous eatery. Adios NY Prime!!!

DO not eat at this restaurant. The unpleasant manager told us that they got rid of high chairs because they don't want babies eat at their restaurant. We were scheduled to have an early dinner with a well behaved baby and a large family. They were rude, obnoxious, and just plain jerks. If you have children, like children, or care about children, do not give this restaurant your business.

Last month i once again had the best filet mignon in three counties at New York Prime. Great bread, sides, desserts. Polite, very professional service. What's not to like? Perhaps the ant on my bread plate pursuing that raisin bread? Not taking off a star for that since we live in South Fla but you may want to upgrade the exterminating service...please!

If you can manage to find a table throuh the droves of bitter divorcees and cheesy fat old guys you'll have a great steak. Medium rare was a little too bloody for my taste but if I went back I'd get it cooked medium. Great food!

If you're looking for overpriced and undercooked you won't be disappointed at NY Prime. This restaurant is WAY past it's prime. The dining experience might be good for fat old guys with gold chains on the make, or for other types of wannabes, but if you're looking for good food and service at sane prices you will be well served by going elsewhere. Expect to be ignored, overcharged, and unhappy by the time you leave.

  • One of the best steak restaurants I've ever been to. You do not realize that it is actually a chain. It seems to be the place to be and there were a lot of fancy cars parked outside (Mercedes SLS AMG, Bentley). Inside you are seated quite close to the next table, though we felt comfortable. Servings are quite big especially when going for a dessert, you should definitively share it. We divided the NY cheesecake by 4 and it was still very rich Prices are significantly above the average

Go here if you feel like bursting an eardrum! We had reservations for 2. When we walked in, we were given the once over dissmisssively by the hostess and told to wait at the bar. The bar was so crowded and loud that we couldn't even approach it for a glass of merlot and forget about a waiter or waitress serving you------ they were all too busy sucking up to the regulars. The place is a loud obnoxious meat market. We hightailed it across the street to Abe and Louis where we had the most enjoyable meal Boca has to offer!! If you are looking for a meatmarket joint by all means try NY Prime. Just bring your ear plugs---we're sure you'll get a dinner and a show.

Pricey, but good steak. All the steaks seemed one level overcooked, so keep that in mind; it's the exact opposite of a real steak house which always seems to undercook from what you order. I had the petite NY Strip and it was seasoned well and tasty. All the sides were delicious (steak fries, onion rings, creamed spinach). Service was excellent. As we were passing sides around the waiters were ahead of us and handing them around.

I love the place! Don't think the entire clientele is focused on NSA; this is a great place for a drink and a steak. Enough of the bitter divorcees. I admire their resilience having lost their former emotional bond. More vibrancy than anger from my perspective. What's wrong with flirtatious? The bar scene is a blast, the middle aged plus crowd is looking for connections, but the mood is lively, the bartenders are competent and well-versed, and the drinks are generous. The vista provides plenty of opportunity for celebrity watching, for eye candy of both genders, and heat-seeking alte kackers. NY strip was flavorful and melt in your mouth tender. Side orders were huge. Prices for entrees are somewhat steep versus Florida peers but more or less comparable to what I'm used to in NYC. Service was outstanding and attentive. Wine prices were reasonable with a great selection. Skipped dessert...no room. A great night out!

Had a terrific meal here with my son while visiting Boca. They welcomed us at the door, and we were strangers without reservations. Got a table right away. Service was exceptional. Menu, or should I say the prices, is intimidating. Yes, plan on spending $100 a meal if you do the whole thing. We did. Oysters on the half were heavenly. My filet and son's ribeye were perfectly grilled and sides were classy. They made me a terrific Manhattan (after first questioning how it could be served neat, the server brought the Boston shaker to the table and poured it from the shaker.) Wine list isn't the most extensive ever, but very good wines to pair with their fare, which is almost all beef. Dessert was key lime pie and wonderful. Nice ambience, friendly people, and yes, lots of rich ones and cougars. Want a special evening and aren't worried about the $$$$? Try it.

In a town full of upscale steakhouses, New York Prime has its devotees. I, unfortunately, do not count myself as one of them. Perhaps its that I'm not a stogie-smoking septagenarian. It could be that all of the big macher types in Boca who crow about this place got me a little over-primed for New York Prime. The service is five-star. If you are looking to be greeted by gorgeous, leggy smiling girls at the door, and have a lot of people buzzing about your table, then this may be your place. Sadly, while the steak was tender, it wasn't all that flavorful. I've had much better steaks at several other places in town. The appetizer menu is broad, but the desert menu is humdrum and overpriced ($25 for a huge hunk of chocolate cake... Less quantity, more quality, at a lower price point gets my attention). I have to disagree wholeheartedly about the atmosphere. The room has a high curved ceiling with cheap acoustic tile squares. It looks like a bad golf-club dining room. Nothing much else, other than the garden view windows that also peek out on the office building across the street, jump out at you. Given the way that Ruth's Chris, Mortons and Abe & Louies are decked out, this is a poor cousin. If you want to go where the beautiful people of Boca hang, I guess this is your spot. Personally, I'll stick with Ruth's Chris over in Mizner Park. Better meat and better atmosphere.

Great place. The food is just incredible. The people watching, as some have reviewed, is interesting and entertaining. With the recession, service does have a certain extra smile to it. Very pricy, but soooo good.

Went with the girls to celebrate a birthday. Our waiter was very helpful in deciding which steak to have. We chose the bone in strip. It was marvelous cooked to perfection. Sides were chop salad cheese mashed and cream spinach. Everything including the music was wonderful. Well worth the trip!

Fun atmosphere, more 40's and 50 year olds and enough goombas too!!! Excellent wait staff, just attentive enough but not overbearing. Filet mignon was exactly as it should be - like BUTTAH!! I cut it with my fork. Sides are worthy of a mention as well. All around a cut above the rest for a steakhouse.

This place is excellent. Thought when Chops opened it would take the cake, but NYP is still the best in Boca in my opinion. Yes everything comes in huge portions with high price tags and its noisy, but what do you want from a steakhouse. maybe the 250lb 70 yr old could button up a couple extra buttons on his shirt so the old gray hairs are poking out while he hits on the 50-something divorcee and maybe the Sweet Caroline napkin thing is cheesy, but we love it every time (must be the alcohol). Wine selection is good and the seafood is excellent. Shrimp app and stone crabs in season. Got a 5lbs lobster once and it was just as buttery and tender as the smaller guys. Steaks are seasoned well and cooked to exacting specifications. The booth are comfortable. While the $25 chocolate cake is big and a ridiculous amount of food for two, let alone three people to put down after a big steak dinner, take a few bites and have it for breakfast (and lunch and dinner) the next day . . . we do. Comparing this to Ruth's Chris or Morton's is like comparing Le Bernadin to Long John Silvers. Seriously. Abe and Louie's, Chops and Trulucks come close, but this is still #1 for me.
